What is the Cockroach Janta Party?
The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) is a satirical political movement born out of sheer frustration, a sense of hopelessness, and an internet connection. We are not a registered political party. We are a collective voice of the unemployed, the overworked, and the underpaid youth of India.
The Spark: The CJI Remark
On May 15, 2026, during a Supreme Court hearing regarding protests by unemployed youth on national highways, Chief Justice of India Surya Kant made a remark that would inadvertently spark a nationwide movement. In expressing frustration over the disruptions caused by the protests, he allegedly compared the unemployed protestors to "cockroaches" infesting the highways.
"You cannot hold the entire nation hostage. These highways are the arteries of our economy, and right now, they are choked by what seems like an infestation. It's as if cockroaches have decided to occupy the kitchen floor."
How It Became a Movement
What We Stand For
Our ideology is simple: Secular, Socialist, Democratic, Lazy.
- Secular: We believe in equal opportunity unemployment regardless of religion.
- Socialist: The wealth of the nation should be distributed, or at least the internet bandwidth should be.
- Democratic: Every cockroach has a vote, even if the EVMs are questionable.
- Lazy: Why protest on the streets when you can meme on the internet?
Media Coverage
Despite our best efforts to remain irrelevant, the mainstream media has been forced to cover the swarm:
